Mission Statement
The vision of the Cache County American Red Cross is to ensure county-wide disaster planning, preparedness, community disaster education, mitigation, and response that will provide the Cache County community with quality services in a uniform, consistent, and responsive manner.
Purpose of Disaster Service
Disaster can strike at any time. One major role of the Cache County Chapter in disaster preparedness is in providing education to the public. Several classes are available to help citizenry formulate disaster plans for their businesses and homes. The Red Cross encourages the public to become involved in the Disaster Action Teams by attending training that will prepare them for the eventuality of disasters/emergencies.. Programs are available for all ages. A "Masters of Disaster Program" for K-6 age children is very popular in schools and Disaster Preparation courses for high school student and older are available throughout the year.
Organization
Locally, the Cache County American Red Cross Chapter has organized teams of volunteers to respond to local disasters. These Disaster Action Teams (DAT) receive specialized training in various functions of disaster relief. The Cache County Red Cross Chapter has a Disaster Plan in place that maximizes the efficiency of its teams. The Red Cross works with governmental agencies, religious organizations, businesses, and individual families to identify resources and to coordinate and provide the most effective response and assistance possible.
